Better building starts indoors
For more than 13 years, Skilpod has been developing and delivering 3D modular homes. Drawing on our expertise in timber construction and extensive R&D, we have developed a modular building system for both single-family homes and larger-scale multi-family housing projects.
Why Skilpod is exhibiting at PREFAB
PREFAB brings together professionals looking for new ways to make housing construction faster, more efficient and more predictable. This is exactly where we want to contribute with the practical experience we have built up over the years.
At our stand, we will explain how 3D modular timber construction is already being used today to address a wide range of housing needs. We look forward to talking to housing associations, property developers, contractors, local authorities and other construction professionals about the potential of modular construction.
Not from a theoretical perspective, but based on hands-on experience with completed and ongoing projects.

Daily practical session: ‘Skip the construction site!’
We will also share our expertise during a daily practical session in the theatre of the Conceptual and Modular District. Pieter Schoofs, Managing Director of Skilpod, will take visitors through our approach in a session entitled ‘Skip the construction site!’
How can modular construction help deliver more homes with less time spent on site? What impact does building in a controlled environment have on timing, budget and quality? And how does this approach work in practice?
Using concrete cases, including Nester in the Netherlands and the social housing project for Thuispunt Gent, Pieter will demonstrate how modular construction can be used to address different housing needs. Visitors will gain insight into the industrial production process, the benefits of completing 95% of the construction work in our production facility, and the impact this has on on-site disruption and overall construction time.
The sessions will take place on:
- Tuesday 6 October: 12:20 – 12:50
- Wednesday 7 October: 13:40 – 14:10
- Thursday 8 October: 15:00 – 15:30
